Product details
The Compact Cyclone Separator is a black, bucket-mounted workshop vacuum accessory with an included elbow.
The chamber is 197 mm in diameter. Each hose port measures 50 mm internally and 55 mm externally. Two sleeve adapters and two hose clamps are included; some vacuum or tool hoses need a separate adapter.
The separator mounts through a separate, sealed bucket lid. Use a rigid collection bucket and lid that withstand your vacuum's suction, and keep the airflow unobstructed. Keep the vacuum's existing filtration in place.
Use it for workshop wood dust and debris. The added chamber and hose create airflow resistance; fine particles that pass through remain the vacuum filter's job. It is not a room-air purifier or a replacement for respiratory protection.
What's in the box
One black separator, one elbow, one gasket, four bolts and nuts, two sleeve adapters and two hose clamps. Vacuum, bucket, bucket lid and hoses are not included.
Installation
1. Drill four bolt holes and a central opening in your separately supplied rigid bucket lid.
2. Mount the separator with the gasket, bolts and nuts, then seal the lid onto the bucket.
3. Connect compatible hoses between the collection nozzle, separator and vacuum, and confirm a sealed fit before use.

As seen on
Over 100,000 woodworkers finish the job without stopping to clean a filter
Sanding a tabletop
Clearing the track-saw guide
Clearing chips off the CNC table
Cleaning up the garage bench
Keep the filter dust off your hands
A vacuum that loses its pull sends you outside to knock dust out of the filter. That means another dirty job before you finish the one you started.
How it works
Incoming air swirls inside the chamber, dropping wood debris into the bucket. The airflow continues to your vacuum, leaving the collected shavings behind.
How to use it
01
Check the collection setup
With the vacuum off, check that the bucket lid is sealed, the hoses are secure and the airflow is clear.
02
Switch on your shop vacuum
Collect wood debris with your nozzle, or connect a compatible tool's extraction hose for the job.
03
Empty the bucket before it fills
Switch off the vacuum, remove the lid assembly and empty the collected debris before it reaches the separator.

ok I'm sold
I thought this would be another thing I bought for the shop and never used. Hooked it up for a tabletop I was sanding and the bucket had nearly all the mess in it. Actually pulled the vac apart to check. Filter looked nothing like it normally does after that job.

Shelves are DONE!
Made all the cuts for our pantry shelves with the track saw. Usually I'm fed up with the cleanup by then but this was easy. Husband wants one for his shed now lol

5 stars
Plywood chips from the CNC go in the bucket instead of filling the vac. exactly what I wanted.

Glad I got it
My hose needed an adapter so it wasn't a straight swap for me. Got that sorted and did the whole garage floor after building a bench. The two clamps hold well, nothing pulled loose when I went around the legs.

Fits my little shop
Small basement shop here. Had a taller setup before and kept catching the hose with my elbow. This sits on the bucket beside my vac and I can get past it again!

Should've done it sooner
Used a sturdy bucket and drilled the lid on Sunday. Was expecting to spend the afternoon messing with it but the mounting bits were all there. First proper test was the sawdust under my workbench. Nice to just take the bucket out instead of dragging the whole vacuum to the bin.

Features
A bucket that stays steady
The separator's weight sits close to the bucket lid, rather than high above it.
Stop air leaks at the lid
The gasket and four-bolt mounting stayed tight through 100 bucket-emptying cycles in our bench trial.
Avoid a kink at the vacuum connection
The elbow makes the turn, so the hose doesn't have to fold against the lid.
Leave a power outlet free for your saw
The separator runs on your vacuum's suction, with no plug of its own.
Clean around the bench without tugging hoses loose
The supplied sleeves and clamps grip compatible hoses when you move the nozzle around your work.
Fit dust collection beside your workbench
The 197 mm chamber leaves room for the tools you use every day.
Collect the mess from the work you actually do
Sand the whole tabletop
Leave the tabletop free of loose sanding dust before you brush on the finish.
Cut a room's worth of shelving
Clear track-saw shavings off your boards so the next pencil line is easy to see.
Make room for the next CNC job
Pick up loose plywood chips beside your CNC before they get tracked through the rest of the shop.
Get your worktop ready for assembly
Give your boards a flat, chip-free bench for the next glue-up.
After a project, I want the garage back for everything else I use it for. This setup gets me from woodworking to parking the car inside that same evening.

Why we built it
Keldren's workshop team wanted beginners to give dust collection the same attention as their saws, so they made a separator for ordinary home workshops.

Frequently asked questions
Will it connect to my shop-vac hose?
Yes, it connects to compatible shop-vac hoses through ports measuring 50 mm inside and 55 mm outside. Two sleeve adapters and two clamps are included. Some hose systems need a separate adapter.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. Supply your shop vacuum, hoses, rigid collection bucket and sealed lid, then drill four bolt holes and a central opening in the lid. The gasket, bolts and nuts are included. Use a bucket and lid that withstand vacuum suction and keep the airflow unobstructed.
Will I still have enough suction at the nozzle?
Yes. In a 30-minute mixed-wood-debris pickup test on ten connected setups, average nozzle airflow finished at 94% of its starting reading. Each setup still picked up its final measured chip load.
Can I return it after trying it?
Yes. Used and unused products are eligible for returns within 30 days of delivery under our return policy. Email help [at] keldrentools [dot] com for authorization before returning it.
Can I use a bigger bucket for longer jobs?
Yes. Collection capacity comes from your bucket, so a larger rigid bucket gives bulky shavings more room. Empty it before debris reaches the separator, and use a sealed lid and container that withstand your vacuum's suction.
Does it collect fine sanding dust as well as chips?
Yes. The bench trial included fine wood-sanding dust mixed with larger saw chips, and both collected in the bucket. Keep your vacuum's existing filtration installed for the particles that continue through.
